PARKSVILLE – It was a good year for Parksville, according to the City’s recently released annual report. It focused on accomplishments in 2016, what’s next and also financial information.
Mayor Marc Lefebvre said it’s difficult to pinpoint a specific highlight, but he was proud of the City’s new water treatment plant, various infrastructure upgrades and their Canada 150 mosaic.
“The Canadian Federation of Independent Business rated us number two in all of the province in terms of keeping costs under control,” he added. “We were also number two with regards to Vancouver Island.”
With so much work being done, Lefebvre says there’s no danger of falling behind on projects and he’s looking forward to an even more successful 2017.
The 2016 annual report will be officially received by council at their meeting in July.
