PARKSVILLE – Vancouver Island University students are ready to present their draft Community Park Master Plan to Parksville city council.
The presentation October 2 will include findings and draft recommendations gathered from public consultations that began in May. The City’s Deb Tardiff says the plan speaks to the vision for the park over the next 20 years.
“They first developed some guiding principles. There is five of them,” she said. “From there priority recommendations and we have slotted them into short term, medium term and long term.”
The public will have one more chance to offer suggestions at an open house on October 28, from 10-2, at the Community and Conference Centre.
Tardiff says the information gathered at the council meeting and the open house will make up the final draft.
Through the spring and summer, the students hosted a number of public engagement events gathering input.
