PARKSVILLE – As the summer continues, and Beachfest approaches, there will be more and more people coming to Parksville to enjoy the waterfront.
The city hopes to hear from as many of those visitors as possible as they continue their Community Park survey. Vancouver Island University students will be speaking to tourists at the park on Fridays and Saturdays in July.
The city’s Director of Communications Deb Tardiff says the questions won’t be much different from the ones asked at previous consultations that started in March.
“What they’d like to see in the park over the next 20 years, why they use the park,” she said. “Even why they’re visiting Parksville. Did they come here for the natural environment? Did they come here for an event such as Beachfest.”
Information gathered during the tourist survey will be included in a report to be presented to council this fall.
