PARKSVILLE – The Salvation Army in Parksville is about half way to their Kettle Campaign fund raising goal.
They have a handful of days left to reach their goal. Major Norm Hamelin says they suffered a bit of a set back with the weather Dec. 20.
“We lost a day. Which is a few thousand dollars to us,”he said. “We’re at the half way mark so we’ve got four days left to cover the ground for $45,000.”
In an effort to make up the lost shifts, Hamelin says they could certainly use a few more volunteers.
“We’re going to put on an extra shift for the rest of the kettle campaign. Instead of ending at 5 o’clock, we’ll end at 7 o’clock in the evening in the various locations.”
If you have a couple of hours to spare, you can contact kettle co-ordinator Courtney Allen, at 250-618-1400.
