NANAIMO — A Qualicum Beach woman was sentenced to 60-days in jail and a year probation for a host of property related offences.
Trina Lynn Bell, 52, was sentenced in Provincial Court in Nanaimo Friday afternoon, after she pleaded guilty to four charges, including theft under $5,000, fraud under $5,000 and breaching court-ordered conditions.
The offences took place last year in the Oceanside region and Port Alberni.
Crown prosecutor Jackie Gaudet said Bell will be sentenced at a future date for a break-and-enter in Qualicum Beach she pleaded guilty to.
Gaudet said an effort will be made to get Bell into addictions treatment.
Bell’s accomplice, Kim Vivian Bain, is facing a future sentencing hearing after she pleaded guilty to four charges, including a pair of property offences.
Arrest warrants for Bell and Bain were temporarily issued after both failed to attend a Thursday sentencing hearing. The no-show came after Bell and Bain were rear-ended while driving to the Nanaimo Courthouse, according to Gaudet.
She said the incident left Bell “quite injured.”
