NANAIMO — Take in that fresh air.
The province pegged the Nanaimo-Parksville area’s Air Quality Health Index at a level 2, or a low health risk early Thursday morning.
The government projected level 3 air quality (low health risk) in the Nanaimo region throughout the rest of Thursday and Friday.
A shift to cleaner air followed more than three days of some of the worst air quality in the province in the Nanaimo area, dominated by dense wildfire smoke.
Vulnerable members of the population and those with respiratory issues were told to avoid strenuous physical activity for most of this week.
Air quality forecasts from the province and Environment Canada aren’t available beyond one day in advance.
