NANAIMO — A serious charge has been levelled against a Nanaimo RCMP constable.
The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) announced Cst. Mark Hilland is charged with breach of trust in relation to events alleged to have occurred in Nanaimo between July 2 and 3, 2024.
The charge was officially approved by the BCPS on Tuesday, May 20.
Hilland’s first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17 in Nanaimo.
The BCPS stated in a news release the charge against Hilland was approved by an experienced Crown counsel with no connection to the accused.
