We continue celebrating Canadian talent for the month of July, and this week, we take off our toques to Bruce Cockburn. A part of the Canadian Music scene since the 1960’s when he was a part of Olivius, who opened for Jimi Hendrix and Cream, and also made a name for himself as a solo artist in 1967’s Mariposa Festival.
His solo work is famous for it’s reflections on faith and social justice. He first achieved success in the US in 1979 with the Album “Dancing on the Dragon’s Jaws, which earned him a spot on the American Top 40, and an appearance on Saturday Night Live.
A remarkable guitar player and song writer, Bruce Cockburn is The Lounge Artist of The Week.
