This week, a salute to one of the most popular bands of the age: America. The 3 US Army brats got together after graduation in London, back in the late 60’s. When Dan Peek joined in 1970, a record deal and a series of international hits followed right into the 1980’s. Songs classified as Soft Rock, and Folk Rock, and a sprinkle of pop sensibilities gave them an edge in the 7’s and they became a defining sound for the decade, with jangly guitars and smooth harmonies.
